Membership Coordinator

MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR

The New York Physical Therapy Association (NYPTA) is seeking an enthusiastic, mission-driven and experienced Membership Coordinator.  The successful candidate will play a key role in building and conveying the value of membership in the NYPTA, maintaining membership records as well as identifying and cultivating new members.  

The NYPTA is a dynamic not-for-profit professional organization located in Latham, New York.  The successful candidate will become a critical member of the organizational team and assist in its mission to empower and support NYPTA's 6,800 members.  The Membership Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director.

Job Description

  • In collaboration with the Executive Director, responsible for planning, overseeing, implementing and coordinating the membership program for the NYPTA.

  • Coordinate and oversee membership activities.

  • Assist in the implementation of action plans for membership development, retention and increasing overall membership.

  • In conjunction with the Communications Manager, create membership recruitment materials, brochures, etc.

  • Initiate internal communications including development membership related newsletter content, email blasts, event announcements, awareness of member benefits, etc.

  • Create, update and distribute information to current members as well as prospective members.

  • Provide input for annual association budgeting for the membership programs.

  • Responsible for oversight and updating of the membership database.

  • Collaborate with the Membership Committee on membership recruitment and retention initiatives.

  • Compile membership charts for Chapter and Districts.

  • Develop surveys as needed to gauge member involvement/engagement.

  • Act as staff liaison to the Membership Committee

Education/Experience

A Bachelor's Degree is desired but will consider candidates with at least three years of experience in an association membership coordinator position.
