Marketing & Communications Specialist

The New York State Funeral Director’s Association has an opening for a full-time Marketing & Communications Specialist in Colonie.  This position supports the marketing, communications and brand positioning efforts for NYSFDA, Directors Choice Credit Union, PrePlan and the NYS Tribute Foundation

Responsibilities

         Helps design materials including newsletters, web banners, posters, brochures and promotional videos

                     Assists with the marketing of services and educational programming

                     Assists with creation and maintenance of web and video content

                     Writes marketing releases and other relevant communications materials

                     Proofs marketing and advertising collateral for accuracy and brand consistency

                     Coordinates with vendors/consultants on specific projects

                     Updates and maintains databases in coordination with Member Services

                     Prints in-house newsletters and inserts

                     Performs other appropriate duties as assigned

 

Graphic Design/Photo Editing

                     Creates high-quality marketing and communications materials as directed

                     Procures and edits photos for publications

 

Video

         Works with the Director to write scripts and shoot video content for marketing initiatives

                     Schedules and coordinates video interviews

 

Qualifications

 

         Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or appropriate field and at least 3-5 years of experience (preferably within an association environment)

                     Impeccable writing and copy-editing skills

         Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator), MS Outlook, Joomla! and/or WordPress

                     Working knowledge of online marketing automation software (Constant Contact)

         Experience with web publishing/graphics design, video and photo editing and social media marketing

                     Knowledge of Google Analytics and AdWords is a plus

                     Ability to travel to fulfill assigned responsibilities
